I guess that when we hear the word desert, we think of the sand dunes in the Sahara. There are sand dunes in Rajasthan, but they are small patches compared to what must be 'semi-arid?' desert. So riding camels on small patches of dunes has become the quintessential tourist activity, like going up the Eiffel tower in Paris. :) I ended up being 'artistic' in the images I have shown, but the number of tourists and camels on 4 or 5 ridges of sand looking at the sunset must be one of the most hilarious sights of the entire journey. The package cultural show after the dunes is nothing to write home about too. But don't get me wrong, it was totally worth the experience, if just to find out what is and is not 'real'. Maybe one day I will do a proper camel safari on sand dunes stretching out like the sea, maybe I will be too lazy.

Thanks Francis. :)

Hi death wool. The red things on the ground are chillis drying in the sun. :) Would love to visit the singing dunes but I do not know when I will be free to next. As you know, I will be interning in Chicago for 3 months. But I will keep it in mind.
