I spent the day opening months worth of mail and filing them. I also threw away old things which I would not use anymore. One of them was a book on Microsoft Access 97. I have no intention of creating my own database now. It is funny how things change, and to move on sometimes, what seemed like a good idea is superseded by the course of life. I have no time to look at computer programming now, I have too much to do with photography.
It always feels good to clear things. When I left London after living there for nine years, I threw away a lot of things that I knew I could not bring back to Singapore. And you know what, I felt an inner relief as well. By letting go of baggage from the past, I moved forward easier.
Once again, I am moving from one stage of my life to the next. I am in the midst of putting my work and personal life in order. There is a lot of actual clutter getting disposed of. But inside me, spiritual and emotionally, I have to let go of the negative memories and energies. There has been so much hurt and frustration that keeps my mind occupied and my energies drained. But deep inside me I feel that the future is bright. I see signs that if I work hard, I will continue to grow as a photographer. But I need to drain the cup of my soul of negative energy, to once more dwell in the energy of the possible.

i duno about jing's prints but his ideas aint half bad. very playful...in a naughty way.
Over the past decade of my life I had various opportunities to declutter, prompted by the necessity to shift houses. It's always amazing to see what stuff gets accumulated. I think everybody should make decluttering a regular exercise - we live in the age of excess. ultimately i guess we also have to make choices as to the kind of material objects and lifestyle choices to make for ourselves.
Hi Geoff. Thanks for the link. I think Eadwine is right. The guy has interesting ideas, but there is something too raw in his photographs. At least for me.
I can help with the database ..
Thanks Glow. I am now using iviewmedia pro to manage my images and Time and Chaos to manage my contacts. I went commerical.
